Present: President Alan Ackley, Clerk Monica Knaff, Treasurer Thomas Santacroce, Deputy Chief Russell Shaw and Fire Marshal Michael Richards

Absent: Vice President Peter Legnos, Director Jeffery Vary, Chief Todd Paige, and Administrative Assistant Jamie Muhlack

At 7:09 p.m. the clerk announced the call to order with the time, date and place. Roll call was taken to establish a quorum. A moment of silence and a pledge to the flag followed.

MOTION: It was MOVED, SECONDED and CARRIED to accept the minutes of the regular meeting of January 12, 2006 after the fire chief’s report is added and the date changed to read 2006.

Reports and Communications

Deputy Chief Russell Shaw’s report was accepted for the record.

A discussion followed concerning chronic leaks in the roof at Long Hill Station.

Fire Marshal Michael Richards’ report was accepted for the record.

The new computer system was discussed.

Unfinished Business:

The Conseco policy will remain on unfinished business.

New Business:

Alan Ackley expressed concerns over Governor Rell’s wishes to discontinue car taxes and the affects this will have on the district. Alan Ackley will speak to the town manager with his concerns.

Presentation and payment of bills:

The treasurer announced that the bills to be paid in February are $99,491.63, approved by the president.

MOTION: At 7:30 p.m. it was MOVED, SECONDED and CARRIED to adjourn.
